Taken from the highlights of 9 different shows in March and April of 2002 and clocking in at over 2 hours, the resulting 4 LP collection One Nite Alone…Live! was the first official live album of Prince’s career and the 27 tracks included feature selections from The Rainbow Children as well as Prince’s extensive back catalog, played with the full NPG as well as several solo piano excursions (“When U Were Mine,” “Raspberry Beret,” “Adore,” “The Beautiful Ones,” “Nothing Compares 2 U”). Members at the time included drummer John Blackwell, keyboardist Renato Neto and longtime collaborators like bassist Rhonda Smith and a horn section that included saxophonists Eric Leeds, Candy Dulfer and Maceo Parker. However, as opposed to the intimacy of the largely solo One Nite Alone… album, this upbeat trek through theaters in North America featured the full talents of Prince’s ever-expanding New Power Generation band. I wasn't a club member but bought the box set via (was it $50?) and didn't get the piano album.FIRST TIME ON VINYL! After The Rainbow Children release and before the release of the One Nite Alone… studio album, Prince embarked on a tour of the same name. Thats why you see sealed copies on Ebay, most people sold there un opend copies (I assume because i did, and others here have said the same ) 1 shipped alone and and 1 extra copy in the box set. Premium npgmc mebers got 2 copies on the ONA piano albums. The cd was sealed and identical to the ones sold at Thoe there was no indication anywhere on packaging that it was included. The extra cd was included inside the box set itself. I don't own the studio version - I think it's more rare than the boxset? And seems to be more expensive (per cd).and is also one of the more commonly faked cds out there.so I'm more cautious about buying it anyway. No, my purchase did not include the studio album. Then be sure to give them positive feedback. Seemed to me to be sold by someone who put care into it all. Even had extra unusal stuffing in the box like an infinity scarf or something. What I thought was a little strange was that all the pieces came individually wrapped-the booklet was in a used plastic bag, the 2 main cds were in their own double cd plastic sleeve, the one it ain't over is in it's own paper envelope, the cd jewelcases each are in two different celophane/plastic type covers, all packed in the official-looking box with Prince on the cover and the keyboards around the edge of the back portion-this box was also in a re-used plastic bag and then wrapped carefully with air pillows. It seems in pretty good shape.I can't really see any wear on it. As for the cd's though, I suppose after April 21st anything is possible. Never heard of this release being bootlegged before, and fake copies of the actual box seem unlikely. Seems authentic to me but have you ever heard of the boxset being copied? I tried searching for info online but didn't see anything on this particular release. And this idea continues in 20, two of the few years along his career in which he did not release an album, although he remained busy with shows in Europe and North America. Bought it on ebay and am so excited-but having read about unofficial copies of Prince's music, I'm wondering if this is real. The tour was well-received, since Prince had not toured Europe since One Nite Alone, although in this case the shows were focused on his old hits. I just recieved the One Nite Alone.Live! boxset.
